Recently, the China Education Association for International Exchange officially released the2025 Recommended List of Outstanding National-Conditions Education Courses for International Students in China and Social Practice Bases for Chinese and International Youth. Drawing on its profound ceramic cultural heritage and strong achievements in international education, our university was honored with two national-level recognitions. The “International Ceramic Art Studio” was selected as a2024 Social Practice Base for Chinese and International Youth, while the courseBlue-and-White Baduanjinwas recognized as anOutstanding National-Conditions Education Course for International Students in China (2025).
TheInternational Ceramic Art Studio, a cultural practice platform that has long been open to artists and art students from around the world, makes full use of Jingdezhen’s unique resources as the millennium-old “Porcelain Capital.” It has continuously hosted ceramic creation programs, cultural exchanges, and social practice activities, and has become an important window through which Chinese and international youth can experience China and engage in dialogue between civilizations. Its selection as a national-level practice base represents strong recognition of the university’s international education capacity and its commitment to preserving and innovating cultural heritage.
The courseBlue-and-White Baduanjinwas developed by a team led by Professor Li Hong from the School of Physical Education. Based on the traditional Chinese fitness practiceBaduanjin, the course creatively integrates the techniques of blue-and-white porcelain, a national-level intangible cultural heritage. Through an interdisciplinary and immersive teaching model, it encourages international students in China to gain a deeper understanding of the unique charm of Chinese traditional culture through hands-on experience and mind–body practice. The course not only highlights the university’s distinctive “Ceramics+” educational approach but also serves as an important platform for telling China’s stories and promoting the culture of Jiangxi. In 2024, China Education Television also produced a special report on the creation and dissemination ofBlue-and-White Baduanjinat our university.
These two honors fully demonstrate JCU’s outstanding achievements in promoting the high-quality development of education for international students in China and deepening people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world. The university will take this opportunity to further strengthen course development and the operation of practice bases, build a more recognizable brand for the international communication of ceramic culture, and contribute the wisdom and strength of JCU to enhancing the global influence of Chinese culture.
