On September 19, Stanford University and Elsevier jointly released the 2025 World’s Top 2% Scientists list. Professor Pu Shouzhi of Jingdezhen Ceramic University (JCU) was named to both the Career-long Impact and Single-year Impact rankings, while Associate Professor Zeng Xiaojun was included in the Single-year Impact ranking.
The World’s Top 2% Scientists list comprises two categories: the Career-long Impact ranking and the Single-year Impact ranking. Drawing from nearly seven million scientists worldwide, the list identifies the top 2% of researchers based on a comprehensive set of indicators, including citation counts, h-index, hm-index adjusted for co-authorship, and citations of papers authored as a single or first author. The rankings cover 22 major fields and 174 subfields. The Career-long Impact ranking evaluates scholars’overall academic performance throughout their careers, while the Single-year Impact ranking focuses on research influence in the previous year.
The inclusion of these two faculty members on the World’s Top 2% Scientists list highlights JCU’s growing international academic influence in the field of Materials Science and Engineering. This achievement not only recognizes the outstanding scholarly contributions of Professor Pu Shouzhi and Associate Professor Zeng Xiaojun, but also reflects the university’s overall research strength and innovative capacity. It is expected to further enhance JCU’s academic standing and global impact in the field of materials science.
