Coventry University Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor Craig Blyth Visits Jingdezhen Ceramic University for Exchange

On the morning of September 27, a delegation led by Craig Blyth, Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor of Coventry University, UK, visited Jingdezhen Ceramic University (JCU). The delegation was warmly received by Zhang Jingjing, Vice President of JCU. Ameetingwas held on the first floor of the university museum at the Xianghu Campus. Hou Tiejun, Dean of the School of Cultural Communication and Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, along with the Deputy Dean of the School of Design and Art, the Deputy Dean oftheSchoolofInternationalEducation, and staff from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, attended the meeting.

On behalf of the university, Vice President Zhang Jingjing extended a warm welcome to the Coventry University delegation and provided a comprehensive overview of JCU’s history, disciplinary development, and educational programs. She expressed her hope that the two institutions would further deepen cooperation in areas such as discipline development and talent cultivation, offering broader academic resources and mutually beneficial exchange opportunities for faculty and students. The visit, she noted, enhanced mutual understanding and friendship, and created favorable conditions and broader prospects for high-quality cooperation in education and artistic exchange.

Craig Blyth expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and spoke highly of JCU’s achievements in ceramic talent cultivation, disciplinary development, and the distinctive advancement of ceramic education. He noted that Coventry University offers a comprehensive range of academic programs and places strong emphasis on internationalization and diversity in student development. Taking this visit as an opportunity, he expressed the hope that both sides would strengthen cooperation in scientific research, teaching practice, and faculty and student exchanges, thereby promoting high-quality development. During the meeting, the two sides also held in-depth discussions on the potential for collaborative programs in the fields of design arts and management engineering.

Prior to the meeting, Craig Blyth and his delegation visited the Jingdezhen Ceramic University Museum and ceramic studios.
