Japanese Delegation Led by Deputy Mayor Ryōhei Suzuki of Tajimi City Visits Jingdezhen Ceramic University

On the afternoon of October 18, a delegation led byRyōhei Suzuki,Deputy Mayor of Tajimi City, Japan, visited Jingdezhen Ceramic University (JCU) forexchanges andcooperation. Chen Yunxia,Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President of JCU, warmly received Deputy Mayor Suzuki and his delegation. Ameetingwas held in the VIP Reception Room on the first floor of the museum at the Xianghu Campus. Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, theSchoolofInternationalEducation, and the School of Entrepreneurship attended the meeting.

At themeeting, Chen Yunxia extended a warm welcome to Deputy Mayor Suzuki and his delegation on behalf of the university. She noted that Jingdezhen Ceramic University, the only multidisciplinary university in China named after ceramics, is dedicated to the development and research of ceramic art education. The university has long maintained close exchanges and cooperation with Japan in the fields of art education and ceramic culture, yielding fruitful outcomes over the years. She expressed the hope that, in response to the development needs of the ceramic industries in both countries, the two sides would advance international industry–academia–research collaboration, build bridges for internships and employment, and provide students with cross-border internship and job opportunities. She also proposed further strengthening cooperation through major international academic platforms such as the Jingdezhen International Ceramic Art Biennale and theInternational Ceramics Festival Mino Triennale, promoting mutual learning and resource sharing.

Ryōhei Suzuki thanked the university for its warm hospitality. He remarked that Chinese ceramic culture is profound and far-reaching, and that Jingdezhen Ceramic University possesses strong disciplinary strengths, offering great potential for cooperation in the field of ceramic art. He expressed his hope to promote exchanges and cooperation among Tajimi City, Jingdezhen City, and Jingdezhen Ceramic University in areas including ceramic education, culture, and industrial development, working together to share resources, complement each other’s strengths, and open a new chapter in China–Japan ceramic cooperation.

During the visit, Deputy Mayor Suzuki and his delegation toured the Jingdezhen Ceramic University Museum.
