On March 25, Elsevier officially released the 2024 list of Highly Cited Chinese Researchers. Professors Pu Shouzhi and Jia Jianhua from JCU were selected in the disciplines of chemistry and statistics, respectively.
Since 2015, Elsevier has released the list eleven times. Based on the globally authoritative citation and indexing database Scopus, the list is a reliable reference for identifying top scholars across various academic and research fields. It highlights key achievements and innovations in core technologies and major disciplines and receives significant attention from both domestic and international academic communities. The 2024 list includes a total of 6,388 scholars from 547 universities, enterprises, and research institutions. It covers 83 first-level disciplines across 10 academic fields designated by China’s Ministry of Education. Using multiple indicators, the list reflects not only the academic impact of individual researchers, but also the disciplinary strengths and academic influence of institutions, as well as the presence of top talent in key areas of research.
